How to take orders from efood, Wolt and Box without typing them into the till again

For cafés, souvlaki shops, pizzerias and any shop with delivery that works with more than one platform.

How most shops work today

Each platform has its own app for orders, usually on a tablet on the counter. When an order comes in, someone accepts it on the platform’s tablet and then types it into the till by hand, so the receipt is issued and the order reaches the kitchen.

With one platform and a few orders, that works. With two or three platforms, phone orders and customers at the counter at the same time, it turns into one person’s job.

What retyping costs

  • Time at the busiest hour. The same order is entered twice, exactly when the shop is at its busiest.
  • Mistakes. A forgotten product or the wrong variation only shows up when the customer complains.
  • Delays in the kitchen. The kitchen starts when the order is typed in, not when it arrives.
  • A harder close of day. Each platform’s sales have to be matched against the till, and every order that wasn’t typed in makes a difference.

Your options

By hand

You accept the order on each platform’s tablet and type it into the till. It costs nothing extra, but everything above stays.

With a tool that gathers the platforms

Some tools gather the orders from all the platforms on one screen. You get rid of the extra tablets, but if the tool doesn’t talk to your till, the order still has to be typed in for the receipt and the kitchen.

With a till that connects directly to the platforms

The order appears in the till, next to the others, and goes to the kitchen without any typing. This is the way that saves the double work, as long as the till supports the platforms you work with.

What to ask before you choose a till

  1. Which platforms does it connect to? Ask specifically about the ones you use, for example efood, Wolt and Box.
  2. Can it accept orders automatically? If so, can you turn that off when the shop is very busy?
  3. Where does the order go? Does it reach the kitchen display, or the printer at the right station?
  4. How is the tax document issued? Ask how it’s issued for platform orders and whether it’s sent to myDATA.
  5. Can you see sales by platform? In the X and Z reports and in the statistics, so you know what each channel brings in.
  6. What about delivery? If you have your own drivers, is there a map and dispatch? If you want couriers, does it connect to Wolt Drive or efood Last Mile?
  7. What happens when the menu changes? Ask what you need to do when you change products or prices, in the till and on the platforms.

How Flow does it

In Flow, orders from efood, Wolt and Box appear in the till, in the same list as phone and counter orders, with a filter for each channel. They go to the kitchen without anyone typing them in, and if you want, they’re accepted automatically.

For delivery there’s a map, zones and dispatch for your own drivers, and Wolt Drive or efood Last Mile when you want a courier. In the X and Z reports and in the analytics, you see sales by channel and by platform.

The platform connection is included in every Flow plan, from €60 a month + VAT per store. More on the page efood, Wolt and Box inside the till.
